Father Daughter Ball 2013

Blessed....enough said!!!

Our family expands

Wow, where to begin...For many years, Jim and I have had a desire to adopt.  We have fought it for a long time hoping God would leave us alone.  We stepped forward and backwards many times towards the process in different ways, but always stopped short in fear.  Finally, about a year ago, we knew for sure this is what we needed to do and that we needed to go through DHS to do so.  We attempted to begin this process having no idea how.  We were not met by a welcoming social worker on the first attempt, but by God's provision, I was treating a social worker for DHS as an outpatient in Okalona.  I was asking her about it, and she said that she would just be our social worker.  She was so very helpful in leading us.  She did all of our paperwork smoothly.  We had 27 hours of classes to take together, many certifications, and some home modifications to make, but in April, we were licensed to adopt from DHS.  We were open to any race and possible special needs.  Our only stipulation was under Farrow Kate's age (5)....Well, as you see, God had other plans.  Our social worker did not call us about these girls because of their ages.  However, a friend of ours who knew the process we were in, found out about them.  Long story short, we prayed about them and their ages and had an overwhelming peace.  I am not saying we are not scared and nervous etc, but we knew this is how we needed to proceed.  We met them Wed and told their social worker that day that we wanted to adopt them.  And so our transition to four daughters begins.  Meet Sarah (11) and
Ashtyn(5)

Tennis 101

Our first experience with tennis.  Emma Claire was able to go to tennis camp with her dear friend Hannah Harmon.  She really liked it!!!

Camping Fun

We just got back from a weekend of camping with sweet friends.  the Wilkins were across from us and the Powells were beside us.  There were kids of all ages playing so well together.  This was definitely our best camping trip ever.  Also, all the big kids skiid and all the littles kneeboarded....many for the first time!!!!

For some reason, Farrow Kate and Hughes Powell having a running push up competition going on.....and Farrow Kate is in the lead.

Happy Father's Day

Jim really has been asking for sod, soooooo, for Father's Day, we gave him 1 1/2 pallets of sod and a whole lot of help!!!!  Now who is jealous of that gift?

The Life Cycle of a Tonsilectomy

Step 1:  Wake up at the crack of dawn because you are excited?????

Step 2:  Arrive to see your sweet teacher with a happy for you!!! Everyone is telling you that you are going to get to blow up a balloon and eat ice cream

Step 3:   Wake up with your ears pierced!!!!

And then the crash hits and the only way Mommy can get you to rest is in the stroller.
Nothing tastes good and you feel terrible
Step 4:  Get home with steroids still in your body and eat popcicles and have sweet friends bring you balloons and treats

And when you perk the least little bit, you get to go get milkshakes and make up to last a life time!!!

But from this mommy, I have to say, this is torture to watch your baby suffer.  I know this is a routine surgery, so let's count our blessings today because many mommies and daddies watch their kiddos suffer for each breath.

Summer Begins!!!

This year, the whole family went for the May beach trip.  The weather and waves were probably better than the girls had ever seen them.  This did not mean that Farrow Kate wanted any part of it, but Emma Claire and her Daddy sure had fun.  We also got to spend some time with Gramsby and Papa T as well as Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Charlie.  This was a great start to summer.

Another year flown by

Jim said "Is that really our baby girl graduating kindergarten?"  I cannot believe we will now have a first and second grader.
