She still has it

This girl still has a taste all her own!!!! Yes, she went to school like this....it was Friday and I gave in.

First one

Ashtyn finally lost her first tooth.  Poor baby worked on it for weeks and finally pulled it herself.  Let's just hope the permanent teeth come in larger!!!

Basketball resumes

This year we have 3 little mooreville troopers playing.  Emma Claire and Farrow Kate are on the same team.  It works like this, Farrow Kate plays defense and steals the ball, Emma Claire does jump ball and scores...(16 of the 18 points to be exact).   Sarah is playing on a separate team and is loving the team interaction.  She scored 2 free throws.

What a year!!!

It is hard to believe what all has happened this year, so I thought this year deserved a summary....

In January, we started the process of being licensed with DHS not knowing what that would hold.
We went to all kinds of classes and had our home study in March.

In April, we went to Boston for my first and only Boston Marathon.  It was very exciting and also
terrifying as this was the year of the "Boston bombing".  Jim and I were never so ready to get
     home and see our girls.

We also received our license to be foster/adopt parents through DHS in April.  At this point, we
just sat and waited not knowing if God would open or close that door.  We were perfectly content
     with either.

In May, my dear Mamaw died on our12th wedding anniversary.  It was a very sweet moment of
her peacefully entering her eternal home.

We also found out about Ashtyn and Sarah in May through some friends who were also getting
licensed through DHS but were not ready yet.  We contacted our social worker and began praying
     specifically about these two girls.

In June, we met Sarah and Ashtyn on a Wed, they came back on Friday to spend the night and go
to the Father/Daughter ball with Jim.  We then left for a week at the beach.  While we were gone,
some wonderful friends completely set the house up for us.  The day after we got home, Sarah
and Ashtyn came permanently on June 29.

August is a month I would be glad to forget with me having two surgeries at once resulting in
complications that set me back quite a bit.

Jim would also like to forget that month because he turned 40 and somehow I managed to pull
off a surprise party for him.

In Sept, we made our first family Disney World trip!!!! It was amazing.  While we were there, we
found out that the TPR (termination of parental rights) hearing had been done and the girls were
     officially free for adoption.

In September, I started a new job at Elite PT.

In October, I got several kidney stones (talk about pain) and one would not budge sooooo another
surgery with bad side effects.  Also, the girls had a plague I hope to never return to.

In November, Jim started a new job after 11 years with his previous employer.

In December, we had the flu, but did have a great Christmas.  We crossed the 6 month mark with
Sarah and Ashtyn meaning we could proceed towards adoption.

We celebrated Dec 31 with our dear friends Walker and Camille and hoped to have a much less
eventful 2014.......AND THEN.....Jim cut his leg with the chainsaw on New Year's Day resulting
in surgery that night.....Not sure what to think of all this!!!!!
